Jeff Zemencsik (Houston, TX) – GCAmTour-Houston players take advantage of great course and weather conditions at River Ridge Golf Club located in Sealy, TX. The tournament produced some of the lowest scores this season in several flights with Micah Hill carding a tournament low round of 68.
The Course: River Ridge Golf Club, Sealy, TX. The course was in great condition with over-seeded tees and fairways, a combination of Rye, Poa, and Bermuda. The greens were very nice, running smooth and medium fast, around 10.
The Weather: A blessed and amazing day for golf with sunshine, blue sky, and some clouds. Temperatures were in the high 50’s early and warmed up rapidly to the mid 70’s. The winds were light in the morning but increased throughout the day from the SSE-10-12mph.
The Tournament:
Championship Flight: Top 5: Micah Hill (68), Dennis Reiner, Jr. (72), Rich Vigil (73/39), Craig Wakefield (73/40), Adam Kuzinski (74/35), James Harvey (74/38).
Micah Hill made his tour debut in grand fashion, carding a season low round of 3-under 68 and capturing his first tour victory. Hill, carding eleven pars and birdies at holes 1, 3, 10, 12, and 17, shredded the shorter course set up. Hill played the par-5’s at four under par.
